PH Design Firm is excited to announce the completion of the Woodman Residence renovation, a project that skillfully balances vintage charm with modern updates. Guided by designers Lauren Callaway and Danielle Patterson, this 13-month transformation breathed new life into a home originally built in 1976 by Margaret and George Bull.
The design approach focused on preserving the home’s unique history while making it more functional and welcoming for today’s lifestyle. Callaway and Patterson carefully restored key elements such as original fixtures, cabinetry, and wallpaper, celebrating the home’s mid-century character. These details were seamlessly integrated into a fresh, modern design that respects the past while creating a vibrant space for the future.
“This was such an inspiring project,” says Danielle Patterson. “The house had a voice of its own. It felt like it knew exactly what it needed, and I was just helping bring that vision to life.” Patterson's approach embraced the home’s existing personality, blending classic elements with new design features. One of the home’s most distinctive pieces is a custom painting of Jerry Garcia in the entryway, adding a playful retro touch that reflects the homeowners' personal style.
For Lauren Callaway, the project also felt like a natural fit. “The retro vibe is one of my favorites,” she says. “It was so rewarding to incorporate that energy into this home while maintaining its original charm. We’re also designing the interiors for PH Companies’ new headquarters, which will have a similar retro feel.”
The Woodman Residence now stands as a true reflection of PH Design Firm’s commitment to blending eras, creating homes that are as functional as they are visually compelling. The renovation harmonizes the vintage and the contemporary, creating a home that feels both familiar and new. From room to room, the design achieves a seamless flow, where nostalgic elements coexist beautifully with modern comforts.
PH Design Firm’s work on the Woodman Residence highlights the firm’s talent for creating personalized, thoughtfully crafted spaces. Through the collaborative efforts of Lauren Callaway and Danielle Patterson, this home now radiates warmth, style, and a perfect balance between past and present.
